September 2021: Housing is a Human Right

Today, I introduced the Affordable Housing Opportunities Made Equitable (HOME) Act with Senator Merkley to tackle the affordable housing crisis that is threatening families in Minnesota and throughout America. No one deserves to be thrown out of their home, especially in a country with over 600 billionaires, and some of the most extravagant wealth in the history of the world. Honoring Minnesotan Olympians

I’m incredibly proud of the Minnesotans who represented our country on the world stage. Every athlete displayed grace, determination, and resilience throughout the games in Tokyo. Their commitment and love for their sport served as an inspiration to all of us watching at home. This week, I joined my colleagues to formally recognize Minnesota athletes for their achievements in the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You can read more here.

Calling on DHS to Lift Trump-Era Visa Sanctions

This week, I led a letter calling on the Biden Administration to end the continued implementation of visa sanctions enacted under President Trump. These sanctions have resulted in increased removals of refugees and asylum seekers from Africa and Southeast Asia. You can read more here.

Voting NO on the NDAA

Yesterday, the House passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that bolsters our defense budget. Now is not the time to spend billions of dollars on weapons contracts and Pentagon waste while thousands of Minnesotans remain housing and food insecure. We should be investing in the American people, not in weapons manufacturers. That’s why I voted no. You can read my statement here.
