Dear friend,

I hope you all had a safe and healthy Thanksgiving. As you know, COVID-19 cases are still going up in Minnesota. It is up to us to remind our friends and family of how important it is to follow CDC guidelines, as our actions can directly impact the lives of those we love most.

If you or anyone you know has COVID-19 symptoms, you can view in-person testing sites that are offering free COVID-9 tests here in English, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish. Note: Testing is free, and you do not need insurance or identification.

Join My Virtual Town Hall

Next Saturday, I will be hosting a virtual town hall on December 12 at 3pm CT. I will be answering your questions about what Congress is doing to address the coronavirus pandemic and discussing my legislative priorities for the next Congress. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook.com/RepIlhan. Click here to see more event details.

Legalizing Marijuana and Expunging Records Nationwide

The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act passed in the House. This legislation federally decriminalizes marijuana and expunges records nationwide. This is a long overdue step to provide restorative justice to those devastated by the war on drugs. To read more about the MORE Act click here.

Condemning Police Violence Worldwide

I introduced a resolution to condemn police violence worldwide. This resolution calls on Congress to stand with peaceful protesters around the world in their calls for justice and accountability for police brutality. To read the full resolution click here.

In service,

Ilhan Omar
Member of Congress
