Fighting for Recurring Survival Checks | Weekly Update Jan 25–29, 2021
Dear friend,
Governor Walz and the Minnesota Department of Health recently announced the next steps in our state’s COVID-19 vaccination distribution plan. Our state has prioritized Minnesotans 65 and older as well as educators and childcare workers. Yesterday, teachers and childcare workers began receiving vaccines at the Xcel Energy Center. 15,000 doses will be administered through Monday. You can learn more about the roll out here.
Fighting for Recurring Survival Checks
A one-time payment of $2,000 is not enough. Yesterday, I led a letter with my colleagues urging the Biden-Harris Administration to include monthly recurring survival checks in their future economic relief plans. We must meet this moment and deliver transformative change. You can read my letter here.
Ensuring People Can Access Affordable Healthcare, Housing, and Nutrition
For far too long, millions have been denied the promises enshrined in our Constitution. This week, I introduced an amendment to ensure that all people have the opportunity to access affordable healthcare, housing, nutrition and education. This amendment will provide a future where all people have a real chance at the American dream. You can read my release here.
